After significant engagement and collaboration with the previous handicapping authorities and other National Associations, it was agreed to unify the six systems into a single World Handicap Sytstem.
The new system enables golfers of different abilities to play and compete on a fair and equal basis, in any format, on any course, anywhere. It is easy to understand and implement, without sacrificing accuracy; and meets the varied needs and expectations of golfers, golf clubs and golf authorities.
